Robinson Crusoe – Discussion Questions & Giveaway

5 05 2010

The two questions that popped immediately to mind when I was listening to Robinson Crusoe are below along with my answers.

1. If you were stranded on a desert island, and could only have one thing, what would it be and why.

I haven’t ever had a good answer to this question – to be honest, I’m not sure I would fare as well as Robinson did, but I think having a journal and a bible would help keep me a bit sane, though I would want ink enough to last my whole time.

2. Do you think being stranded for as long as Robinson was that it would make you closer to God, or turn farther from him?

I think initially, it might make me a bit angry, and wonder why God had left me stranded on this island, but then after a time, I think it would draw me closer – because, as Robinson found, seeing God’s creation, and how it all interacts together, and how he provides for each living creature would make me understand him more.

Answer either question in the comments for a chance to win one of our Text + Audio Apps – and, sorry, you have to live in the US to win, Apple’s rules.

2. Why was Dicken’s mother allowed to be let in on the secret?
